How do I know you are the right coach for me?
Read right through my website - how does it feel for you? Do you like what you see and read? Is there ample information? Does my writing convey to you a little about me? Are you perhaps interested but afraid to make the next step?
Contact me and we can set up a face-to-face or phone session within the next 2 weeks. This is a free one hour you can have with me to ask me any questions you may have. Here are some questions you may like to ask me:
- What are your highest values?
- What do you specialise in?
- What experience do you have and what have been the results your clients have gained? (read some of my testimonials on this site)
- Can I speak with any of your clients, past or present?
- What methods, tools do you use to assist the coaching process?
- What are the benefits of phone coaching?
- Are there any payment options?
- What are the terms of the contract?
- What can I do if I feel the coaching is not working out?
- Have you ever been coached and have a coach?
- How do you ensure confidentiality?
- What are the differences between coaching, counseling, mentoring, consulting, therapy, facilitating, training?
- Does your life experience contribute to your coaching? How do you walk your talk?
- Are you happy and passionate in your life today?
I would recommend you do some research and even speak to other coaches before you make up your mind.

Read the section "About Michelle" and you will understand how I walk my talk and why I am so passionate to share with you the joy of being in the career of my dreams!
I have read your section "About Michelle" and feel that you never hated your job like I do. Can you help me?
Sure I can! You don't have to hate your current career to feel lost and directionless in life. I loved and enjoyed doing my work helping clients as a physiotherapist. However, I just knew there was more for me, and I was prepared to take a calculated risk and train in a totally new career. Now, I see how I can combine my two careers and offer added value to my coaching as well as my physiotherapy clients! I have a clear purpose in life and I would love to help you feel the same way.
How is your coaching different to Life Coaching?
It isn't different. It is more specialised and focused to helping you achieve the career of your dreams. However, understand that there are many facets to your life, your health, your relationships, your family, your wealth...As we focus on one area, you will experience changes in other areas, and we will aim to keep them all in harmony, so you are gradually creating the life of your dreams. So often, as significant change happens in one area of our life, the same flows through to other areas. In your case, it will be increased confidence, motivation, energy and enthusiasm.
My training as a life coach is invaluable to understanding how to guide you harmoniously through your career transition. Combined with my specialty in career coaching, you will transition much more easily and understand your whole self more fully.
Is life coaching a bit like counselling?
Coaching is outcome oriented, involving action and moving forwards towards your vision. I believe that everyone has the wisdom and the resources within themselves as well as the ability to tap into and trust in themselves to bring about changes they want.
Like counselling, coaching is client centred and individual. As a coach I encourage you to touch on the past to understand the present, then we leave the past behind as new beliefs and experiences are formed. As coach, I help you to work through challenges and sometimes these can evoke strong emotions, answering difficult questions. However, as I support you through, I encourage you to continually take action, to trust in your ability to overcome the challenge and to see the lesson right there in the moment.
As coach I provide objective feedback, hold you accountable, and help you realise your authentic self as you move towards your career vision. You are provided with tools and strategies to create the results you want.
Who are your clients?
I have coached a range of clients from different career backgrounds, and with varying career requirements, gaining results every time. My clients are mostly from all around Australia, however, I have coached clients overseas and this is very easy with the use of email and phone technology.
My clients have been other coaches, training consultants, a vineyard manager, business directors, librarian, a pilot, air hostess, jewelery designer, finance broker, mines truck driver, mines maintenance manager, website developer, psychologist, physiotherapy practice receptionist, university student amongst others.
How are you different to other Career Coaches?
Because I only work with individuals, my coaching is very personal and targeted just for you. I do not consult with companies or groups. Although we will occasionally touch upon life management and other “career coach-y” things like resumes presentation, communication enhancement and interview skills, you have me as a Career transition expert and consultant, guiding you step-by-step to break through the mindset blocks, boosting your motivation and courage to reach for the stars. Because my focus is very narrow, what you get with me is no-nonsense, undiluted expertise on what works for you as an individual.
What type of clients do you work best with and what is expected of me?
Coaching is only ever effective when the client is ready to make changes, to take responsibility for their life, and to implement changes.
I want to work with people who are absolutely excited and deadly serious about wanting to wake up each morning with a smile on their face, recharged and excited about starting their day, living out their purpose. I have created systems which if you implement them can bring you results within a few months (sometimes weeks!). This will eventually lead you to the career you have been dreaming of.
Being a high achieving go-getter myself, I’m known to work best with other high achieving go-getters who are super-ready to get going and just want to know exactly what steps to take to be in the career they want.
Consider what you’ll do with me to be an action learning course. You will be expected to take serious and consistent action. No excuses anymore, just a very different way of thinking and full support while you achieve this incredibly exciting goal: passion for your career, joy for living, that "jump out of bed feeling"!
For what type of professional is this program NOT going to work?
Please know I’m very selective with who I work with and I pick my clients, choosing to (gently) turn away people who aren’t suited for my program and won’t get the results for which they would have signed up for. (It wouldn’t be fair to them.)
The Career Transition program is NOT for those who have no money coming in and are absolutely, financially desperate, at least not right away. It has been my experience that people in financial crisis do not trust the recommendations I give them, procrastinate and do not do the work as they are possibly spending so much time worrying about where they are going to get next month’s rent cheque or mortgage payment.
If you fall within this category, it is absolutely OK. We’ve all been in times of financial crisis at one point or another. Do yourself a favor:
- Get some money coming in with a full-time or part-time job at the very least, and then call me. This will take the edge off and provide a little more peace of mind. Mostly, it will de-clutter your mind enough to focus on your Career Transition assignments and the BIG picture. Once you start seeing a clear plan as a result of our work, you can then start making further results-oriented steps towards signing up for the coaching packages.
- Take up the complimentary session with me, I will get you started towards your goals until you’re ready to work with me one-on-one.
When you’re ready, call me and we’ll get you started. I am in no rush and will be here when you need me.
I understand that some clients may be in a "negative" frame of mind, having been dispassionate in their career for a period of time. However, I will only coach those who are willing to create new possibilities and to be open to positive change and to seeing the silver lining of every dark cloud that comes past.
Another type of person I won’t work with (without exception) is the whiner or the chronic skeptic, as well as individuals who consistently make excuses for not getting their assignments done or challenging every aspect of the program. If you are one of these people, I gently and respectfully ask that you not call and I hope you understand why. We’ll probably just not work well together and I wouldn’t want you to waste your time or money. Is that fair?
Where are Coaching sessions held?
Most clients appreciate the convenience of coaching via telephone. Arrangements can be made for clients who wish to meet one-on-one, if mutually convenient. These sessions are either conducted at a cafe, your place or at my home office. Please contact me to make arrangements that meet your needs.
How long is a Coaching session?
The introductory consultation, which is complimentary, is 45 to 60 minutes long. The first coaching session is usually between 1 hour to 1 1/2 hour. All other coaching sessions are an hour long and most clients use coaching sessions every fortnight. Many clients find that an initial commitment of 6 months gives them the best opportunity to create lasting positive changes and attainment of their potential. Most clients continue to work with me on an ongoing basis due to the continual rewards that they experience. Best outcomes have been from coaching clients over a period of at least 12 months.
What can I expect from a Coaching session?
During the introductory consultation, we will establish your needs and expectations and figure out whether or not we are a good fit for a successful partnership. During the first coaching session, we will review your personality profile, which is done in the first introductory consultation, and explore where you are stuck or struggling. We will also assess all key areas of your life and establish where you need to focus your attention in order to obtain more balance in your life. You will also choose a specific goal that you would like to achieve and that we will be working on in the following coaching sessions. During the subsequent coaching sessions, you will set a plan of action and follow it until you have attained your desired goal. Once you have achieved your desired goal, you will select another goal you would like to work on, and so on until you are living the life you desire!
I also totally understand that each client has their "own way" of getting there. I focus on what YOU truly want, and am flexible to your needs.
As I coach you, I will encourage you to honour the past, to embrace and celebrate the present and to know that you are creating the future, right now.
What if I miss a scheduled Coaching session?
I require a 24-hour notice for any cancellations. If you do not cancel or reschedule a coaching session, you will be charged for the session.
What is your Training?
I am a Beyond Success trained Accredited Life Coach
The Beyond Success Coach Training Program is accredited by the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Coaching (ANZI Coaching), which sets and monitors standards for professional ethics, training and practices.
I know which program I want. How do I get started?
Excellent! Do you know that some of the most prominent characteristics of successful people is that they take action. They take educated risks, are decisive and move forwards towards success faster as a direct result of this. It is also well known that these people make decisions based on gut instinct. In saying this, since this feels right for you, then let's do this. Call me or email me via the contact page, and we will set up a meeting right away.
How soon can I see you?
I have a commitment to seeing no more than 10 clients a week. I do keep appointments free for special initial appointments. Therefore I can usually see you within a week of your initial contact. I do my best to accommodate every one who makes contact.
I would like to ask you a few more questions.
Brilliant! I like an inquisitive mind. Use the contact page to send me an email of all the questions you have and I will endeavour to personally answer them all to the best of my ability.
